The room was so spacious (quite rare in Japan), clean and the beds were comfortable. Location was amazing too. Only few stops away from Fushimi Inari shrine, GION street, and walking distance from the river, supermarket and famous public bathhouse Umeyu. The receptionist was so kind and helped us figure out which routes to take, which area to go for restaurants etc. For the price, the room and service was above and beyond what I had expected! Will definitely stay here again when o visit Kyoto!

The place is compact and has everything you need - we used the kitchen to cook our breakfast and the washer to wash our clothes. Everything is super clean and the Japanese tatami room. Futons are comfortable to sleep. There is air conditioning on both floors. The location is perfect not far from Kyoto station and steps away from Aeon mall with a few good chain restaurants but also there are some good small independent restaurants in the neighborhood. The staff replied fast to hour inquiries.

Everything! It was really cool staying in a typical Japanese home and learning about the culture and history from the hosts, they were absolutely wonderful. Michi is super kind and hospitable, there was an excellent breakfast with ingredients picked from her garden, and it was only an 8 minute train ride to Kyoto station. One of the best home stays I’ve experienced, and I highly recommend giving it a try instead of staying in city center with all the other tourists. Missing it already!

Hotel right behind Kyoto main train station. You can walk it there by using the basement shopping mall streets. It brings you out next to the hotel's entrance. We upgraded to the 'top floor Suprior' room, which gives you a nice view of the city with its own private entrance lobby. You get unlimited complimentary hot/cold non-alcoholic drinks including a Costa Coffee machine and Nepresso coffee machines/coffee capsules available to take to your room to use.

A wonderful location, about 5-7 minute walk from the Kyoto station and it was easy to find. The hostess was very kind and accommodating. The Ryokan was beautiful, clean and homey. We were very fortunate to stay at a Ryokan while we were visiting Japan and I would highly recommend to anyone to stay here. The bath was so relaxing and much needed after the amount of walking we did around the city. We were lucky enough to see Lilly the morning we were leaving, she's so cute!

We had such a wonderful stay in Goco Hotel. We booked the smallest room and for us it was clearly enough. The hosts are so kind, always welcoming and happy to answer your questions and to give recomendations (restaurants, locations, etc.). Free water and coffe in the entrance. If you need an umbrella, they can borrow you one as well. Location is fantastic, we visited most of the places on foot. If we come back to Kyoto, we will not hesitate to stay in Goco Stay again.

The staff are so helpful and really saved our trip in Kyoto! The room and facilities were great, and the ground floor coffee shop was excellent (as a Melbournian coffee snob, I loved their beans!) Location was very useful for getting around and we weren't surrounded by tourists only (which is a positive!). When we went out to dinner at neighbouring restaurants, almost all the patrons were Japanese, so we knew the food options were delicious!

We loved our stay here. The front desk was always very warm and friendly. The lounge in the second floor which is included is great. At this price point, can’t be beat. This hotel compares to hotels in the $500-$700CAD range and is a fraction of the price. Rooms are very comfortable, very modern but keep that Japanese feeling. If you are in Kyoto, this is a must stay. Location is also great as it is only a short walk to many activities.

Location was perfect, a walking distance to the main Kyoto train station which is the hub for the bullet trains and haruka train to outskirts from Kyoto. Hotel offered daily complimentary drinks and we enjoyed the bubbles there. As for the restaurant VERY affordable restaurant in my entire Japan visit and the food was equally delicious and enough. The room was surprisingly specious enough compared to Tokyo rooms with a nice balcony

Hotel Material was a great choice for our family vacation in Kyoto. Very cozy and clean, great staff and location. The only thing that we wished they had was maid service. We don’t know that they didn’t have this which was a surprise. You also have to request clean towels if you wanted them which is something I didn’t want to have to worry about while on vacation. Over all I would stay there again!

Ostay Kyoto West Hotel apt is ideally located.10 minutes walking from Kyoto station. It is a cosy apartment with views of the Bullet Train tracks. The best thing is that it has a comfortable bed, washing machine, microwave, A/C, cooking facilities, and electronic lock. The host allowed an extra hour to check out at no extra cost. I highly recommend staying at this place when visiting Kyoto.

Fantastic location about 3 mins walk from Kyoto station and there is a 7-11 downstairs as well as numerous restaurants around. This is the best hotel we've stayed at in Japan in our two week trip. Quick check in and check out. Good facilities such as coin operated laundry, microwave in laundry room and luggage storage. The room was spacious and very clean. We really enjoyed our stay here.

It was the best hotel during my trip to Japan. At first I was nervous because I am a woman traveling alone. However, the neighborhood of this hotel was safe and I felt safe. I went to Kyoto ONLY for this hotel. I highly recommend this hotel if you want to experience life in a traditional Japanese home. At the end of my stay, host made me tea and took me to the main station in Kyoto.

Love the free coffee, sake and amenities offered here. Everyone was so helpful and felt like they wanted to help you. Hotel was located nearby eateries so walking was no problem. Local bars nearby as well as their own. We didn't get a chance since we were always coming back late from the day. I would totally look this location again the next time I'm in Kyoto

Staff was so kind and friendly. I felt like they were family. They were extremely helpful and the room was very big and spacious. I would stay here again 100% I wish I was there right now. I had the Japanese breakfast every morning and it was so lovely. They do give you the option for a western breakfast. Close to kyoto station and all the important places.

Very conveniently located inside Kyoto station. Easy access to all railway lines and bus services. Tour pickups are also closeby. Plenty of shopping and dining options within the station and malls nearby. Rooms are comfortable. Breakfast buffet ( included in the room rate ) is quite good with Japanese and Continental options.

- Very central, close to Sanjo Station (metro/trains) to reach main touristic attractions in Kyoto and surroundings like Nara, Uji, etc. - Neighbourhood full of restaurants, shops, convenience stores - the French bakery just next to the Hotel :) - the size of the room was decent and little bigger than in cities like Tokyo

The stuff was super friendly and helpful. The location was great, you could walk to the "Inner City" pretty quickly. Using Gojo Station you get to Kyoto main Station with just one stop. :) Once we visit Kyoto again we will for sure look forward going to this Hotel again. Also, the Onsen was a big bonus!

Of all the hotels we stayed at during this trip to Japan, the Hotel Wing in Kyoto felt the most like home. There was just a level of comfortability and coziness that the hotel had that was so appreciated. Breakfast was delicious, the staff was so helpful, and the location can't be beat. Location was great. Close to a train station and 1 stop away from Kyoto Station. Room was clean and spacious. Lots of restaurant options at the hotel and a fantastic playground nearby for those with kids. Hotel has a roof terrace too where you can enjoy sunsets. Very helpful staff. Overall great stay!
