Set in Habarana, 11 km from Pidurangala Rock, Gabaa Resort & Spa - Habarana offers accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace. It is more beautiful a place than the pictures-if that’s possible! We spent 3 days, one just relaxing in the premises and we don’t think we can get over it! The people working are really helpful, really kind and provide you with anything you need. From their welcome until their tips for our departure, they were tireless and obliging. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Also, they can arrange any visit in the nearby monuments and cities with excellent service. Bonus for us: on the day of our departure monkeys were playing outside our room, which we enjoyed so much. Can’t recommend it enough!!!!!

Located in Galkadawala, within 34 km of Kumbichchan Kulama Tank and 35 km of Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, Wilpattu Wildhideaway provides accommodation with a garden and free WiFi as well as free private... Staying in Wilpattu Wildhideaway was truly an unforgettable experience. The highlight of my stay was the delicious traditional dinner served at the hotel. Anta expertly crafted local dishes that provided a delightful taste of Sri Lankan cuisine, showcasing the rich flavors and spices of the region. Additionally, the hotel's Safari experience was amazing. Anta provided valuable insights into the flora and fauna, making the safari not just an exciting journey but also an educational one. We observed sloth bear, monkeys, a lot of peacocks, other birds and lizards and buffaloes. It was unforgettable!

Set in Anuradhapura, 3.3 km from Anuradhapura Railway Station, Divine Villa offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. We loved the quiet location of this affordable riverside villa, among the rice paddies. Only a few minutes stroll to a main road with lots of tuktuks and buses to take us to major sights, restaurants and shopping. Spacious, clean rooms with comfortable beds, on demand hot water, satellite tv, good wifi and electric kettle. Delightful owner Hashan prepared delicious low sodium breakfasts and dinners for us at a reasonable cost. He was exceptionally helpful in meeting all our needs, including laundry, cell phone repair, transfers, a tour of the ancient city, and a trip to view wildlife in the national park. Highly recommended!

Situated in Anuradhapura, 3 km from Kada Panaha Tank, Yaluwa Tourist Rest & cooking class features accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a terrace. Yaluwa Tourist Rest and Cookery is just about the sweetest place on earth to relax. It is a small and friendly family run establishment with just a few rooms located in a lush garden setting. My room was palacial with a comfortable king bed, mini refrigerator, bottled drinking water and stylish bathroom. Everything was clean and fresh, including the AC. They have a lovely garden nook where I was treated to complete and tasty breakfasts. The place is run by an adorable couple, Supun and Chaya, who were just the best! They helped me figure out what to do and how to do it in the 3 days I spent in Anuradhapura. For a small fee I rented a bicycle from Supun and Chaya and took a leisurely ride around the countryside. Highly recommended!! I also took Chaya’s cookery class which was a ton of fun. You will learn to make 7 Sri Lankan dishes using ingredients that are readily available outside of Sri Lanka. Take notes! And be prepared for a filling meal afterwards, so book in the afternoon and come hungry. Of note: you do not need to stay at Yaluwa to take the cookery class. Just contact Chaya to set up a time. Like many small hotels and home stays in Anuradhapura, Yaluwa Tourist Rest and Cookery is located a few km out from the center of town on a small, quiet road. I used a bicycle one day and a tuk tuk the next to visit various ruins and get around town. Yaluwa will arrange a tuk tuk for you if you want to explore the ruins that way. The hospitality and kindness at Yaluwa Tourist Rest and Cookery was outstanding. A fantastic value that I highly recommend!

I only came to Habarana for one day, but because I got to stay in Habarana, I stayed in Habarana for two days. The best place I have stayed in Sri Lanka. Very free. Very honest. Best place to stay for a very friendly and fun family. I felt like I was in a castle. 🫶🏻
