We loved everything about this hotel!! New spacious room with modern bathroom and lovely private patio; excellent pool to cool off after morning safari or before evening one; very friendly and helpful manager who was always smiling and sharing info about elephants with us over meals; very good food (really liked the rice and curry!) which we weren’t necessarily expecting from a hotel restaurant. And the best part: seeing elephants across the road in park during breakfast l!! Side note: be careful about where you book in this area. The hotel we originally booked canceled on us day of when they found out we’d booked a safari through someone else (not them). We were lucky to find this current hotel who said it was our decision to book safari with them or not (although I’m sure their safaris are good too!).

El Wild Lake Side está situado en Udawalawe, a 5 km del parque nacional Udawalawe, y ofrece alojamiento con restaurante, estacionamiento privado gratuito y jardín. This was one of our favourite places we stayed on our entire trip! The cabins are extremely comfortable and have beautiful views of the river, we loved spending our evenings sat on our balcony watching the birds and monkeys. The host is extremely helpful, make sure you book a safari through him! Food was also fantastic.

Las habitaciones muy amplias y limpísimas. La wifi funcionaba muy bien y la piscina y todo el jardín limpísimo. Vale la pena quedarse más de un día solo para disfrutar de la tranquilidad del hotel. Te organizan el safari al precio standard, pero no hay compromiso alguno. También nos organizaron transporte a muy buen precio. El desayuno riquísimo. Sin duda el mejor alojamiento que hemos encontrado en 3 semanas en Sri Lanka.

El Jungle Paradise se encuentra en Udawalawe, a 5 km del parque nacional de Udawalawe, y ofrece alojamiento con restaurante, estacionamiento privado gratuito, pileta al aire libre y jardín. Alojamiento precioso en un entorno maravilloso. Habitación enorme (más que una habitación resultó ser una villa a la que no le faltaba de nada). Personal tremendamente amable, sonriente y siempre dispuesto a ayudar y a hacer agradable la estancia. Cocina muy buena, desayuno estupendo. A escasos 10 minutos de la entrada al Parque Nacional de Udawalawe, donde se puede ir de safari (ellos mismos se encargaron de contratarnos la actividad). ¡Totalmente recomendable!

River View Safari Cottage. Es un alojamiento de 3 estrellas que se encuentra en Udawalawe. Este alojamiento libre de humo está a 19 km de Parque nacional Udawalawe. A great area in front of the beautiful river. Good value for money, dinner was very good!! And the staff is very friendly. The beds are comfortable and the room is very clean! We took a safari with them and it was great. Totally recommend it

I had a fantastic stay at Lily Resort Udawalawe. The rooms were comfortable, the food reasonably priced and delicious, and the pool was perfect for relaxing. The highlight was the safari tour arranged by the resort at a great price – an unforgettable experience.

Group Safari Family Cabaña se encuentra en Udawalawe, a 17 km de Parque nacional Udawalawe, y ofrece alojamiento con pileta al aire libre, estacionamiento privado gratis, jardín y terraza. The buffet was really nice. The waiters are kind. They organised a jeep safari tour for us. The tourguide was wonderfull. Would recommend!

Green View Safari Paradise está en Udawalawe, a 14 km de Parque nacional Udawalawe, y dispone de alojamiento con jardín, estacionamiento privado gratis, salón de uso común y terraza. What a wonderful place! The staff was so kind and helpful. They arranged a 7 hour safari for me, with Amila. It was INCREDIBLE! I highly recommend paying the extra money for the longer safari, and if you can, book with Amila. He was so knowledgeable about the animals and birds and really took time out on roads in the national park with almost no other jeeps. The room was clean, the food was delicious, the setting was peaceful, and the grounds were lovely. What a great price for an great room!

El Leel’s Safari Cottage se encuentra en Udawalawe, a 12 km del parque nacional de Udawalawe, y ofrece alojamiento con jardín, estacionamiento privado gratuito y restaurante. I’ve been in Sri Lanka for 4 weeks and stayed at more than a dozen places. This one I will never forget. When I first saw the ad, I thought it looked too good to be true. But since there was a special price for the opening, I thought I’d give it a try. I could not be happier with the choice. I've had an unforgettable experience. This place is absolutely fantastic! To help future guests, I will try to provide as much detail as I can in BOTH columns: The cottage only opened in February 2024, so everything is brand new. Unlike in other places, you actually get what you see in the pictures. Everything about this place is very well thought-through and built in a way such as to allow for a most pleasant stay: The cottage is located very quietly in the middle of nature but still close enough to town (5 min by tuktuk). It has an outdoor terrace with two regular and one swing chair offering a lovely view over the garden. The bedroom is beautifully designed and very spacious. The wardrobe and dresser offer plenty of space to store luggage openly and easily accessible. The beds are very comfortable and the mattrasses have standard European/US length (I mention this because sometimes in Sri Lanka, the mattrasses are shorter so that your feet stick out at the end). The A/C is very powerful and there are no smells (which sometimes happens with older models). It cools down the entire room very evenly. There are multiple electrical outlets which all types of sockets (even USB slots). There are light switches for every single lamp which allows you to set the lighting in just the way you prefer. Worth mentioning here too is the warm temperature of the light. The WiFi is reliable and sufficiently strong for browsing, streaming, and video calls.
