First of all, the looks of it. Also it was center of the little village and very close to the train station.

But most of all it's a lovely mountain hut with the benefits of a hotel, and the perfect base for hikers who want to enjoy nature. Multiple marked trails are right outside of your doorstep! It's accessible by foot or fernicular (expensive cable car), and just outside of the business and tourism of Hrebienok if like us you don't like the skiing vibe.

Hotel Hubert Vital Resort in Gerlachov offers a restaurant, a spa area and horse riding facilities. The rooms are fitted with a satellite TV, minibar and most rooms have a balcony. I did like a food, ,area, animals everything was nice and clean and also pets friendly 🙂

The newly renovated Atrium Hotel High Tatras near to the funicular to the Hrebienok set 300 metres away and the town of Stary Smokovec offers you cosy en-suite rooms with balconies and internet... My wife and I spent Christmas and New Year at the Atrium Hotel High Tatras. Throughout our stay the staff did everything to insure we had a wonderful holiday. The facilities more than met our expectations. From the reception, the restaurants, wellness center, to the bowling bar the staff were most curtiest. Both the breakfast and dinner buffets were outstanding with a wide variety off dishes to select from. Adjacent to the hotel is a ski slope which is also well maintained.
