Set in Khon Kaen, 4.5 km from Central Plaza Khon Kaen, The Cotton Tree Hometel offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Check-in was smooth and the receptionist spoke basic English. The room has all the usual basic amenities: 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 2 bottles of shower gal, 2 bottles of shampoo, cotton buds, shower cap, 5-6 hangers, hair dryer, 2 bedroom slippers, mini fridge, kettle and 2 cups. 4 comfortable pillows and clean sheets. Perfect for my 1-night stay. The air-conditioning was strong and cooled the room fast (but you can turn up the temperature or switch to fan mode if you are afraid of the cold). WiFi in the room was stable and fast. The neighbourhood was quiet for the night I stayed and I had a good rest. There is a security guard at the entrance who is actively doing his work, checking on cars that stopped at the entrance and greeting us when we returned to the hotel past midnight (in short, I felt safe!) There was a male receptionist at the front desk at night too. There is a well stocked 7-11 just across the street. I'll be returning if I were to visit Khon Kaen again!

No breakfast but free tea/coffee and snack any time to enjoy. Booking.com sold twin bed room in a lower price but the manager provided a king size-bed room at no coat. More importantly, the manager herself was very attentive to a special healt-related request, and she was so kind to follow-up the situation at the check-out. It is possible to add more insights on positives, but it can all be summarized in the efficient management style and the well-chosen educated front-desk staff.

Located in Khon Kaen, Neo Hotel (เป็นหนึ่ง) provides 2-star accommodation with private balconies. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. I think the price for the quality and the location was great! (30 min walk from the train station and 15 min walk from the lake and the evening food market). I even extended my stay for 3 extra nights with the help of the friendly staff at the reception. I rarely needed to use the air conditioning as the temperature in the room was always pleasant despite the heat outside. The room can be cleaned if you like and 2 small bottles of water are given each day.

The hotel is on a quiet sidestreet, not central, but with enough stores, restaurants, laundries for my needs. Bathroom is new, hot water is good, beds and pillows are comfortable, lighting is OK, there are enough plugs.
