The biggest 2 trumps of Mahali Zanzibar were the location and most importantly, the people! Firstly, it's located in the middle of everything, right on the beach and in the middle of Paje beach overlooking the ocean, just a few min walk away from the little market and grocery store. Secondly, the staff in Mahali - every single one of them was such a sweetheart! They were very welcoming and so personal and that in the most positive meaning of this word. People were always smiley, positive and always ready to help whenever you needed it. What's more, the place itself is really nice and clean as well and as I already said it had a nice view over the beach. The room was super spacious. They made our beds, changed towels and cleaned the room every day. This is all really nice! However, more of a luxury. We would have been totally fine with the same towels since it would be better to save water :D But all in all I don't whine.. The only thing that was little funny, not that it was something I did not like, but I was not used to this, was the breakfast. The food itself was delicious and you were able to order literally everything you wanted from the menu, but the way it was organised was strange. We knew that the breakfast was included in the stay, but they did not explain how does it work, if I was able to order a specific amount of items from the menu or there was no limit. Maybe this is something I would recommend them to rethink or at least explain to guests. After we understood though, we just ordered almost everything from the menu every morning. Just the first interaction with the staff at the breakfast table was funny. :)

I travelled with my kids and to be honest this place did not feel like a lodge or hotel, it felt like home away from home. Everyone from the owners Eric and Sophie to all the staff were so warm, friendly and welcoming. They made it so hard for us to leave. We really enjoyed our vacation and we will for sure go back there. Thank you to all of the Lodges staff and a big thank you to Eric and Sophie for make our trip a memorable one. We will always remember this holiday.

Amani Hotel Paje has an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a terrace and bar in Paje. The property is around a few steps from Paje Beach, 2.6 km from Bwejuu Beach and 19 km from Jozani Forest. Good location. Very nice owner and staff. Anna and her team do their best to make you feel home. Good/generous breakfast. Nice pool.

BaraBara Eat&Sleep - Eco Boutique Hotel features free bikes, garden, a shared lounge and terrace in Paje. One of the best places i've stayed at on Zanzibar. The owners and the staff were more than great. The food and smoothies was super good. Everything was made with attention for the details. Room was clean and equiped with all i needed. I enjoyed my stay very, very much and stayed even longer than planned.

Set in Kizimkazi, less than 1 km from Kizimkazi Mkunguni Beach, Kameleon Blue offers accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace. Very friendly staff and amazing food! The rooms were spacy and clean. Kameleon Blue is the perfect place if you want to escape from the crowdy places. We can definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to see the more quite areas of Zanzibar.

Hotel area is very nice and well taken care of, same goes for the rooms. Nice swimming pool, bar and pool table. Breakfast is very good with a la carte table service. The chef in the restaurant and bartender is also very good. All the meals and drinks were well prepared. 15min beach walk to the middle of paje beach or 5min taxi. Booking service for tours, transport is offered and you can pay directly to the hotel. Owner is also very friendly.

Staying in this hotel we felt like at home. The service was very friendly and helpful and the rooms clean and comfortable. The employees took care of every detail and created a wonderful atmosphere that allowed for complete relaxation. They have prepared many attractions for children, and great food and drinks in the hotel bar for adults. I highly recommend this hotel for families with children, but also for couples and people who want to spend a nice and relaxing time in a charming place.
