The cabin is so great that I immediately regretted I only booked it for one night. I should have booked for more nights!!! There are lots of animals: peacocks, turkeys, hens, geese, pigs, etc. There are lots of birds chirping in the forest, but they did not affect my sleeping at all. There are also many tropical trees in the garden. Cocoa tree, banana tree, etc. It is pleasant to walk among them. The staff Lakshmi is super nice. I like this hotel so much. If I visit the big island again, I will definitely stay there longer.

I stayed at the Big Island Retreat while competing at the Ironman World Championship. What a stunning find, a perfect hotel for the race, close enough to Kailua-Kona to be accessible, far enough away to avoid the chaos. If you like older buildings, this is the place, so nice to stay in a room with real character It wasn't cheap, but still great value compared to the crazy prices that other places charge. Big room, lovely veranda, excellent cooking facilities, great bed, plenty of parking

This cozy Apartment is roomy. Comfortable king bed. Perfect if you are not one of those big resort people. Half a mile to the best snorkeling spots I have ever experienced. Loved the covered patio and being less than a mile from a large shopping center for eating out and groceries. I just pray when we come back to the Big Island this will be available for us. If not I will arrange our trip around the availability of this unit. Very happy with our stay. Zero issue and no complaints here!

The view was great. If you can get an ocean front room on floors 6-8 you won't be disappointed with the view. The hotel was close to Mauna Kea, the Volcano National Park, the zoo, and many other attractions on the Hilo side of the Big Island. There also were many great beach parks nearby that were good for seeing fish and sea turtles. We loved the little convenience store right outside the hotel and Coconut Island.

Hale Kawehi was a real delight - not just a regular 1BR apartment, but effectively a furnished whole house - including two sitting rooms and wrap-around balcony. It was a great base for our four days of sightseeing on the Big Island, and lacks nothing for comfort. Well furnished throughout, the kitchen was the best stocked we have ever encountered. Would definitely stay at Hale Kawehi again.

This is a well-located property, very reasonably priced hotel close to downtown Hilo and sights on the east side of the Big Island. At first glance it is daunting - needed to check other reviews when we first pulled up, because it looks so shoddy from the outside. But inside - wonderful carvings, beautiful garden, delightful staff! We had a rain forest outside our window which was delightful.

we loved our time here! Irene is the BEST host. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality, and the lovely chats. This is far from your typical hotel experience, but we loved the uniqueness of it. And Irene has so many great tips on what to do while you’re on the Big Island. Highly recommend staying here; thank you Irene and hope to see you again one day!

The location is very calm and relaxing. It does not feel touristy, it feels like you're staying in a rural town. Hilo is very laid back and authentic. Hilo will be my go to city whenever I visit the Big Island and Hilo Reeds Hotel will be my first choice and recommendations to friends and family who visit Hilo.

The Sea Mountain is a great hotel or more like apartments rental that has all you need for a medium to long stay on the Big Island and in the same area of the Big Island. The apartment that has a fully equipped kitchen was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The staff was also very welcoming and friendly!

Room cleanliness the view from my room from the hotel the luau was fantastic I like mytie dons I liked the walking distance too kind of the downtown area everything was just wonderful at your resort if I come back to the Big Island I will be with you in the lagoon tower

Lovely apartment, very comfortable. Great location for exploring the Big Island . Hosts were very gracious and gave us some great tips on things to do during our stay.

Great little eco hotel tucked away in the Big Island countryside and very close to Akaka Falls.

I stayed at F4, and it was amazing. Sparkling clean, they have everything you need for a pleasant stay: all kitchenware (really, everything) , beach chairs, umbrella even snorkels although we didn't use it since we had ours. There are some people that actually live in the complex and they were very friendly, so were the other guests during our staying, which made wonderful memories from our time in the pool. It is walk distance from the village.

Lovely resort, well managed, always looks pristine. 3 pools with jacuzzi, one next to the ocean. Apartment overlooking the golf fairway was very comfortable, clean and spacious. Resort is tucked away in a quiet position with a shopping centre, petrol and food nearby. Easy drive into Kona and nice drive Volcano.

Lovely big room with very comfortable king bed. Spacious bathroom. Heated towel rail - very nice. Beautiful lead light in one of the windows.
