Relaxing and peaceful, enjoying the sun on the terrace (but a little chilly in the evenings).

The owner does not supply towels, which we found somewhat strange (sheets and bedding are supplied). Also no proper oven. Hot water is supplied by and old style gas water heater with bottled gas and a pilot light that needs to be manually lit. Such heaters are probably not even be legal in many countries these days. Without using the wood burner there is insufficient heating on colder days.

The best parts of this accommodation were the location, the vast terrace, the views and the amazing peace and quiet. The terrace is ideally situated to catch the afternoon / evening sun (even in early November). The apartment (effectively a penthouse) is situated directly opposite Plaza Al Hombre Del Pueblo Curro Jiménez (a small very peaceful square). We found parking directly outside very easy (may not be so easy in peak season). Despite the language barrier we found the owner and his family exceptionally responsive to any issues (the only issues we had were to do with the hot water). Inside the apartment is fairly typical of older style properties. The bed was very comfortable indeed. Plenty of cups / glasses / plates / pots / pans / knives / forks etc. Apart from an air-con unit (cooling / fan only), there were a mobile oil filled radiator, a small fan heater and a wood burning stove (buy your own wood). We found access via Camino de Pescadores was the best way in to El Bosque to reach the apartment. Don't let the nature of the cobbled camino put you off, it is perfectly legitimate to drive along it (just plot the route on Google Maps).
