Fantastic stay in this beautiful peaceful village

Having our own kitchen and dining facilities would have been nice but then the booking fee would have been higher, and we did meet a lovely couple over breakfast!

A lovely old room with large modern bathroom, a shared dining room and kitchen. Breakfast was brought in fresh each morning and laid out for us on the large dining table that we shared with the guests in the room opposite us. On arrival, we were met by our host, who owned the house, all the other houses in the village and the chateau that overlooked the village, where she lived! She was a lovely young lady and very helpful, explaining about the chateaux garden, which is open to the public, and that one (reduced price) ticket can be used throughout her guests stay. The garden was absolutely wonderful, we fell in love with it and spent hours just walking around looking at the various follies and water features. The little museum in the old stables was interesting and gave the history of the chateaux and it’s owners. It has now belonged to the same family for more than 300 years. Parking in front of the property. The village is very safe, on the edge of the River Allier, with a restaurant and a creperie, a gift shop and an antiques shop where villagers bought their bread!

An absolutely beautiful location - the most beautiful village in France. No grocery shop for miles though and only one restaurant- however the restaurant is first rate! The gardens are the most incredible we have ever seen - well worth the admission

The accomodation is fabulous. Full of character in a picture perfect village location. The facilities and layout are excellent for a couple to stay. The owners were very helpful and very friendly.

The property offered all that we needed and was in a beautiful setting. Having the use of apartment facilities was also a bonus. breakfast was prepared and left for us to help ourselves - very nice.

There was some mold which is understandable to some point in an old house, but it was a little more than expected. It was visible behind the couch and for people who can't stand the mold smell it can be problematic. Also, window nets would be a nice addition.

Breakfast was light but fine. If you're expecting classic hotel omelet and sausages you will be dissapointed, but we were fine with croissants, butter, orange juice, yogurt and jam.

Lovely young lady showed us around the apartment. It's very well furnished . The breakfast was delivered each morning. It's near some interesting private garden, go late afternoon when it's quiet to visit say 5.30pm

We stayed in summer and it was 30 degrees. But no fan was provided and the windows are very small (as it’s a historic place) so there is no breeze. got so bad that we slept on the floor to cool ourselves 😂

Check in was easy and the place is very cute. Full kitchen with all the bits you need and they provide things like coffee, yogurt, and bread. Location also excellent.

It's an extremely idyllic village setting, and apartments match this in the aesthetic, very old with modern amenities. The village of course has the gardens and a restaurant but the highlight was a ceramic studio on the river bank. Great traditional french breakfast, cant fault this.

Every thing about this residence, this village, the nearby floral park, the views, the architecture are simply stunning! Just an amazing discovery. The house itself and our bedroom are lovely, well appointed, clean - in short, exceptional. Highly recommended.

A warm welcome from Louise, the property was situated in an idyllic location, wonderfully decorated, clean and spacious. A delicious breakfast served at 8am. We will recommend to all our friends. Delightfully perfect.

My ONLY comment here is about the size of the bed, which for 2 people I found a bit small.

Breakfast was wonderful, with many local products, some of which we've not had elsewhere in France.

the extensive gardens and lakes and trees, magnificently landscaped. these were behind our rooms snd one paid 18€ to enter but we spent hours both in early evening when no one else was there as well as hours the following morning. a highlight of our time in France

We loved everything about our one night stay in Apremont-sur-Allier, to begin with this lovely apartment at la maison d’Apremont. It was spacious, very comfortable and so nicely renovated and decorated. Breakfast was in the fridge and bread delivered early in the morning at our doorstep. A small selection of French literature helps you to get a hundred years back in time, aligned with the atmosphere of the village. From the apartment you walk straight to the Allier, where you can have a drink at “les petites causeries” watching the river flow by. Very peaceful! Dinner at la brasserie du lavoir was very good too (also for vegetarians!). The highlight of our stay was the beautifully landscaped Parc floral, with its old trees and ponds. We can only recommend the whole package.

Wifi did not work but then again it was not really a problem for us.

The place is very clean and very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was correct. Location was great although the village is rather small so everything was close by. The Parc Floral was spectacular, a must see.
