The only negative paint was it was too hot overnight and unable to open windows as there is patio doors, I did not feel comfortable leaving them open all night as its part of the bedroom - Would recommend asking for a fan if the weather is hot and you are saying in the cottage.

We were upgraded to one of the cottages behind the hotel it was very clean hotel, The bed was super comfy and the bathroom was big with a separate shower and bath. The food was really good, we had breakfast and an evening meal and did not disappoint. Very well priced, Bar was very reasonably priced, and did not over charge. We would definitely recommend and stay again

The bedrooms are a tad tired.

The location was excellent especially for walkers whether into Windermere, Bowness or countryside walks.

The bed was a bit hard and lumpy, but was a good size. A long walk to the room and steps for older people carrying luggage weren't ideal with no offer of assistance.

A generously sized room and bathroom set in very pleasant surrounds. The room was warm and breakfast was very good. Parking was easy.

We didn’t get the room that we booked firstly. In Booking.com we saw the Superior Room with Annex. Beautiful! We had in our opinion a small double with a small outside patio. Room 30. This was not the room I paid for. It was substandard. Cobwebs in every corner and around the coving at the ceiling. Filthy skirts. Stained radiator. Edging on the bedside table was hanging off. My Wife tried many times to contact reception to no avail. They didn’t pickup the whole time we were with them. Black mould around the inside of the shower cubicle. Bathroom dirty around the flooring and edges. My Wife actually cleaned the bathroom before we used it. Shower was extremely slippery. As a disabled person I found it to be very dangerous as I slipped and luckily my Wife caught me in time. Carpet near the double doors fell short. There was a step from the room to the patio that was not obvious and warned about. Dangerous when you step out. Flag leading to the grass verge was unsafe. My Wife actually tumbled and her ankle was sore. Outside lights didn’t work.

Privacy. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. Exceptional. Chapel dining room was gorgeous. Had a lovely evening meal. Staff were fantastic. So courteous and welcoming. Young lady told us all about the property. The history. She was amazing. Unfortunately eating breakfast one of the cooking staff was a little confrontational with a resident.

The food was poor. Limited breakfast choi ce. eg. only scrambled eggs, no fried, poached or boiled available. Dinner options were mostly bought in and appeared to be frozen type meals.

Doors banging, the food in the restaurant is below standard, we had red Thai curry which was a mistake, I think it’s just a microwave meal with funny not fresh rice and soft Popadoms. The dogs barking as it’s a dog friendly hotel and there are quite a few dogs about which didn’t bother me apart from in the evening when I was trying to get to sleep. It would be good if they just kept a section of the hotel for dogs away from other guests

The pool, the building, the location the gardens, some of the staff

The bed was two singles together which was great space wise but be both ended up in the crack in the middle over night. Unfortunately no way to turn the heating down in the room which led to a rather warm night's sleep. Bathroom was clean but could do with a re seal and looked a tad tired. Breakfast was plentiful but more basic quality. Not masses of parking so struggled to get in a spot in the evening when we arrived.

Great location although we didn't have a view of the lake the Manor itself was very well presented, staff were all very helpful and accommodating. Great facilities including the pool which I had to myself. Lovely grounds to walk our dog too. Just a short walk in to town but felt very rural and private which is wonderful. A lovely get away for a night here. There was great choice for breakfast which was included in the price.

We booked a room with an extra-large bed, but it ended up being two single beds joined together, resulting in an uncomfortable gap in the middle, which was especially inconvenient with our baby. Additionally, toiletries were not provided, unlike most hotels. While the breakfast was delicious, it would be great if kids' meal options were available as well.

The property was excellent, particularly the delightful outdoor area. The swimming pool was lovely, and the interior was also very impressive.

It's a bit outdated hotel and probably little overpriced, too, but in that area, that's common. Overall nice place to stay for a few nights.

Nice and clean hotel, very friendly staff and good delicious full English breakfast. Spacious bahrooms abut a bit outdated rooms. Check in was late but they allow us to leave our car at the car park. Lovely outdoors sitting area to enjoy coffee and pastry in the morning. Okay swimming pool.
