Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt was disappointing that the scenic bar was not yet open in May and neither was the sun lounge area bar.
Quiet, beautiful location with easy walkable access to the local town and its amenities. A small hotel (17 rooms) with plenty of sun lounges, access to the sea and quiet efficient staff.

Fabulous location. Wonderful views of the bay. Delicious breakfast. Lots of places to sit inside and out. A perfect base for exploring Pylos and area.

RomaniaIt wasn't yet season, so the hotel's bar was closed.
Everything is so beautiful to this property: view, room's design, location under the Pilos Castle. It was a great break the two nights that we spent at Karalis Beach Hotel.

FranceMaybe we were too early in the season for the beach bar and due to the windy weather it was closed.

This elegant hotel is situated on a small headland at the edge of the beautiful bay of Navarino, below the impressive Pylos Castle and surrounding woodland and virtually on the waters edge. The really beautiful small town of Pylos is only a few minutes walk and has a most attractive waterfront with wide terraces and walkways some of which house the eating areas of a number of local restaurants. The hotel has well finished common parts with comfortable seating and eating areas, many with balconies and terraces offering fabulous views across the bay. The bedrooms are contemporary in style with comfortable beds, very good linens and bedding. Everything is spotless. The little balcony to our room has a table, two chairs and a padded bench plus there is a raised flower bed which in our case was planted with geraniums. Breakfast was beautifully presented with a vast array of treats, some continental as well as typical Greek dishes with eggs as per desired and really delicious squeezed orange juice. The breakfast lounge is situated by a lovely sitting area and bar and is a delightful area to sit in the sunshine and read. Outside are terraced sitting areas with tables and chairs and also sun beds. By the hotel’s little ‘beach’ there are further sun beds and awnings. There is access via steps into the wonderful sea. I think the best thing about this hotel is the welcome and attention from the front desk. Lampro and Ioanna man the desk all hours and are a treasure trove of information regarding the town and beyond. They are lovely people and I send huge thanks to Lampo for her hospitality.

IsraelThe hotel is located perfectly just a bit off the sea shore with its many restaurants so it is quiet yet near enough to the many restaurants there, near the central square and the fortress which is a "must" visit. Comfy rooms, wonderful and rich breakfast served on the terrace providing a view to the sea. The hotel is run by two lovely women who keep it neat and make sure the visitor gets everything he needs.

BelgiumWe were a bit before the high season and workers were still preparing the property for the summer. That made it a bit too noisy to really enjoy our beautiful balcony. We were offered a bottle of wine and a fruit platter to compensate though.
Beautiful and convenient location. Good breakfast. Very nice room.

United StatesThe room isn't large, but we managed. We don't typically spend much time in the room as we are out exploring the city and surroundings.
The property is set off from the city which gives you a very nice view. You are right on the water. I assume during the summer you can swim right from it. It was a little chilly when we were there so we didn't attempt it. The room is nice and clean. The staff are friendly. The breakfast was very nice with lots of choices. One of the best we experienced during our travels.

Absolutely amazing view of Navarino bay - our balcony was a stone’s throw from the sea! The hotel is also next to the fascinating ‘new’ castle. Pylos is a beautiful Greek town, with a lively square. The hotel staff, including Bella dog, were very welcoming and helpful.

GermanyAs a matter of fact we stayed there at the end of the season, the outside bar was already closed and it was not booked out. The price could have been a bit lower to the above situation.
The hotel is located at a perfect spot...end of the road, directly at the waterfront with access for swimming. The main square is in walking distance with lots of restaurants & bars. Breakfast was fantastic with all you can imagine (from continental to greek food with eggs on request in all variations)

United KingdomBest hotel position in Pylos – next to the castle, on a promontory with direct access to Navarino Bay. Rooms comfortable with balcony sea view. Clean, serviced every day. Breakfast was fabulous with a huge range of dishes both hot, cold and cooked to order. Greek and other breakfast treats on offer. Finally the staff were excellent. In particular the front hotel desk staff were knowledgeable and readily available to answer any queries.

NetherlandsThe rocky area where there are stairs into the sea for swimming in crystal clear water would benefit from some maintenance.
This hotel has unique views of the bay of Navarino from the southern entrance and lies within walking distance of Pylos centre next to the novakastro, well worth a visit. Make sure you book a room with a view of the bay which comes with a nice balcony. The rooms are very clean and the breakfast is truly excellent as is the staff.

United KingdomBeyond a few cosmetic bits in the room that needed tidying up, nothing at all.
Gem of a hotel, we'd walked past it many times but this was our first stay and were not disappointed. The room was fine, could have done with some paint touch up where a leak had happened above. Bathroom was fine with a good shower by Greek standards. The view from the balcony is to die for and is worth visiting for this alone. There's no pool but access to the sea is easy from the steps in the hotel grounds. Breakfast was probably the best i've had anywhere in Greece, a fantastic selection of fresh produce and eggs done to order swiftly, the breakfast staff are a credit to the hotel, welcoming and professional, and there's the view from the breakfast room.... Will stay here on our next visit without doubt. Oh, and Bella the dog.
