Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

JapanJust a little thing, it would be good to have wider curtains to make sure the light is not coming in, especially in spring when the sun rises around 4:30.

New ZealandDespite the photos and having stayed in other hotels in Japan, the room was a little smaller than expected. The window doesn't open much and is frosted which is a bit claustrophobic. Our room looked out onto a solid wall so didn't really need the privacy frosting in my opinion.
The staff are awesome – friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, lots of great restaurants nearby, and not a noisy busy area. Very well connected to multiple train lines and super central. The rooms are clean and well kept.

It was my first time in Japan, Tokyo and I heard rooms in hotels in Tokyo are very tiny, but in the Sotetsu Fresa Inn it was big, at least bigger than I expected...however I was alone, so if you plan to stay with someone else in one room it might be inconvenient. I really love the location: 15-20min walking to Tokyo station, 10-15min walking to Akihabara, and 5-7min to Kanda station..so everything is close...also there are many cafes, restaurants and convenience stores near the hotel. They provide all useful items for a comfortable stay in a hotel like toothbrush, shampoo, soap, hair dryer, tea packs and coffee and etc Staff is really polite and some of them can speak English If I go back to Tokyo I will definitely stay here again

New ZealandHaving to go down to the 2nd floor for washing was not fun. Though the tv showed me if the dryer was free which was fantastic. Having to leave my rom for cleaning for so long was not great, though understandable.
Tidy room that felt bigger than the pictures in the website showed. The water pressure was great for washing. It was great to have a desk to work on by the window.

JapanBathroom. You need to climb one step up to get in the room. Also, toilet scares me because water always run automatically when I get into the room .
Just a few minutes from Kanda station . That means one station from Sinkansen Tokyo station .Easy to move around.

Really great Hotel in the heart of Tokyo. Fast access to train- and undergroundstation. The rooms are clean and comfy for reasonable prices. The staff is awesome, friendly & courteous. Especially I have to hilight Nicole & Liza from front-desk. So attentive and warmhearted. With charme and multilingual they've fullfilled your every wish. I give 9 stars for the hotel and a tenth star for these two great, unique employees. Sure I will come back!

CanadaThe area from the Kanda station to the hotel was quiet, it felt safe but be sure to use the south exit. Other exits put you on to the street beside the tracks with vendors approaching you and asking to pay for services.
Friendly checkin and option to check in with the machine which has an option for English. Take the amenities that you need after checking in on the lobby level. Breakfast 7am-10am in the first floor restaurant. Clean room, large enough to store a few bags. The hotel offers luggage storage after checkout as well for a few hours.

United KingdomHaving a smoking room on the ground floor meant that you'd occasionally get a whiff of that stench as you walked in (sorry smokers, I hate the smell!).
Location, location, location. The close proximity to Kanda station was excellent (even for short legs, it's a 5 minute walk at most) - making getting around super easy. In addition, it's away from the noise of busy roads and bars giving the benefit of peacefully quiet nights. Now the hotel itself - it was immaculate, the staff were lovely and it had an excellent vending machine that accepted international cards. As a solo traveller the room was also perfectly comfortable and reminded me of university dorm rooms. I do understand why some couples may find it a little crampt for their liking, but I must point out that there is plenty of storage space under the beds so tripping over suitcases can be avoided. In summary, this hotel is a convenient base of operations for exploring the nearby areas - it represents efficiency and economical comfort, but not luxury. I'd happily return should I get the opportunity to visit Tokyo again.

United StatesOne room faced a kareyoke bar and you can hear the singing going on at night. Breakfast, although very modestly priced, could use more variety. Breakfast personnel were friendly and hard working.
Rooms were bigger in comparison with other hotels. Friendly and helpful staff, all of whom spoke English. Meat Kanda Station, which has one entrance that has many stores, shops and izakaya. Many convenient Banks nearby as well as a 7-11 and a Lawsons. Barber nearby and dry cleaners. Many modestly priced izakaya nearby as well. Quiet for the most part, rooms were comfortable.

CanadaThe staff were incredibly friendly! We also really liked the variety of amenities available, including the amenity bar in the lobby and the ability to borrow additional items if needed. The hotel is also in an under-rated but extremely convenient location - a short walk from Kanda Station, which has excellent connectivity to get around Tokyo and some good izakayas nearby.
