Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South KoreaThe facilities in the accommodation room are very old-fashioned, and old TVs and set-top wiring are exposed to the mess.
It's nice to have a common facility (public kitchen, laundry/dryer) with time constraints other than accommodation. Breakfast is self-contained, including bread, eggs, cereal, milk, coffee, and ramen.

SwedenThe price is very good. You get breakfast, free laundry. The bed can warm itself up. I didn’t use the wi-fi because it was too slow. But a great place to stay at. It is a bit on the old side, but then again it has a good price.

IrelandI can’t think of anything major that I didn’t like
The facilities were amazing, food was provided for breakfast, instant coffee by the truckloads and a washing machine and dryer to be used for free. This is one of the best value accommodations I have stayed in, in South Korea

CanadaA few things in our room weren't perfectly clean (found a few hairs and a sticky spot in the floor).
It was a great hotel, with a nice, clean breakfast area and laundry facilities. They replaced our water bottles and towels each day. Very happy with the space.

United StatesThe bathroom was not very clean. It needs a good spray down with bleach.
It is located in the Sangmu district with plenty of shopping and entertainment nearby. Walking distance to numerous restaurants and cafes. They provide breakfast but I opted for local food instead. It is quiet and close to the Uncheon subway station as well as many bus routes and the Uncheon reservoir which is a gorgeous place to go for a walk and see nature in the middle of the city.

AustraliaI have trouble getting in and out of a tub, so a walk-in shower would be better. English language instructions for the induction cook-top and the laundry machines would be useful.
The breakfast offer was excellent, although I couldn't figure out how to use the induction stove so I wasn't able to take advantage of the eggs. Two laundry machines and a dryer, with detergent supplied, was fantastic. I was there for a week, so used these machines a couple of times, very handy and appreciated. Staff were helpful when I needed a taxi. Convenience stores only a short walk away. Starbucks is around the corner.

GermanyMy room was close to the breakfast and laundry room so that I could hear the sounds in the morning and at night. The walls are pretty thin so that I heard new arriving guests walking through the hallway. Besides that is the door of the room at first opened so that a lot of mosquitos got into my room. The bathroom is spacious but not the most modern one - having a bath tub with stains at there. Note: The personal can’t speak English - but it works with Papago as a Translator.
The motel is at a nice location and has an elevator. My room was spacious and came with a face mask, body and shower lotions. They serve free breakfast (cereals, toast with strawberry jam, milk, tea, coffee, orange juice, and eggs/ ramen). At the same room it is even possible to wash and dry the laundry for free. The hotel even allowed me to keep my luggage for a few days there by storing it at the breakfast room.

CanadaGood value. Even though the hotel entrance was modest, the inside was modern and clean. The room was comfortable and decent size. Hotel staff kindly lent me a USB charger because I left mine at home. They gave a complimentary full toiletries kit on arrival in addition to the soaps already in the room. Breakfast was simple and "OK", not many places give any breakfast.

The location was fine for transport links and there is a good selection of restaurants nearby.

South KoreaI didn't really liked that there was no one at the counter. Only when I arrived to let me check in. Afterwards there was nobody to be seen. It didn't bother me that much but sometimes I just felt like I didn't had a place to go to if I had a question
For a motel it was very good! It was cheap and it is noticeable why but it is a perfect stay for a couple of days. The room is very clean and broad. You have everything you need there and they provide the basic necessities. There was also breakfast! don't expect one as in a hotel but for me I was just happy to have something to eat before my day.

PhilippinesWell lighted corridors but over all its okay.
Everything went well with my stay at Athene Motel. Its near the May 18 Memorial Park and Uncheon Reservoir, there are 2 bus stops near and 1 train station that makes it accessible. The room is clean and spacious for one person. The hosts are kind, they let me store my luggage even after check out and come back for it. The free breakfast is basic but good. Recommended when you go to Gwangju.

ItalyThe lady was very surprised to see me, I don’t know why, and wasn’t very welcoming. She also couldn’t speak much English and she didn’t tell me anything about breakfast, which was included with the room. The breakfast table was on the floor below mine so I wasn’t sure if I could eat there or not. But it was also my fault since I didn’t ask for more info. The overall vibe is the one of a motel where you go to “”meet”” people just for a few hours or a night, but the room was actually nice.
Everything was good. Great position. They gave me a bag with a lot of stuff like toothpaste, shampoo, etc (also condoms lol). I was given a double room even though I paid for a single one. They had everything you could possibly need in a hotel room.

FinlandThe pillows were quite hard. The windows are pretty thin, so some noise and cold came in from there. Also even though the hotel is non-smoking, there was someone smoking probably in the room next to us and the smell came to our room.
Great value for price! Breakfast was simple but good: eggs, bread, cereal, juice and coffee. Subway station is nearby, easy check-in and check-out. Good facilities, water and microwave in the hallway and free laundry.
