I was really satisfied. I was happy about this place. So, I cannot recall any inconveniences.

Very quick and smooth check-in, no waste of time. Parking in front of house. Elegant hall, stairs and corridors. I was in last floor and there are small stairs inside room too (back to down) which took smile to my face every time i looked them. Breakfast was satisfactory, lot of diary products (including lot of sour cream) -- feels really like in Latvia ;)

Historic well maintained hotel that feels gracious with a sweeping stairway from the lobby to the rooms; dining room looks out onto a park. Centrally located in the center of Cesis with easy access to train and bus. Old town is directly outside the hotel.

In one of the rooms me and my colleagues occupied was the light which has a motion sensor. Well... when you are turning around in your bed, the light in the small lobby senses it and turns on on every move. Quite annoying.

Although we arrived past midnight lady at reception was very polite and keen on helping us settle in. Breakfast was ok, nothing wow, bet it was fine. Spacious rooms and nice view. I assume that it is double as nice in summer. :)

We loved the Hotel Cesis. The building itself as well as the room we stayed in was beautiful. The hotel was built in the 1930s and has that style throughout, but looks like it was very recently renovated and everything is new and in great condition. The room was large and was very comfortable and bright. The carpet, wallpaper, and bathroom were all recently renovated, and everything was very classy and well-selected. We had a nice view to the park right behind the hotel. Staff was very friendly. The breakfast was very good. At the time of check-in they asked if we had any food accommodations so that they could prepare breakfast for tomorrow. From the hotel, you can easily walk to the old town for dinner. The hotel let us check out late with no extra charge. We would definitely return to the Hotel Cesis.

This grand hotel is in the center of the town, minutes walking distance from any place of interest. Set on a park, it has quiet rooms that are very clean and comfortable. Great shower. The basement has a cafe with good selection for a hot meal.

No lifts. It's an issue if you have a heavy suitcase like I did. The lady at the reception kindly helped me out when I checked in (hopefully, we were two to carry the suitcase) but it's a bit of a nuisance. Perhaps a tad expensive for a single room in Latvia.

Great location just in between the train station and the city centre. It has the charm of an old grand hotel (the breakfast-room/restaurant is lovely in that style BTW). I was staying in a split-level single room that was more than adequate. I appreciated that the few steps between the bedroom and the bathroom were fitted with automatic lights that would switch on when movements were detected. Very helpful (and safe) if you have to use the bathroom at night. Breakfast was fine and the ladies at the reception were really friendly.

The hotel is small, cosy, and really quiet - possibly that was because of our off-season visit to the town, but it still created a pleasantly secluded atmosphere. Please don't get fooled by the somewhat dated look of the building, as the rooms are very modern and exceptionally clean. The breakfast served features just enough choices to charge one up for the day. The location is superb, within a 3-minute walk from Cesis Castle and the park, and the main street with a versatile choice of eateries is also only a couple of blocks away. Would recommend the hotel to anyone!

Watch out for steps!

Excellent location, classic hotel. Full breakfast buffet spread. Modestly priced eatery serving up Latvian stodge in the basement, seemingly popular with local teens. You can’t go wrong here.

Doors definitely aren't soundproof; in case there is a group what departs early, you hear them too well to sleep any longer.
