Kenrokuen Garden is 10-minutes’ away on foot while the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art is a 15-minute walk away. Myoryuji - Ninja Temple is a 10-minute drive from the property.

This is a family-run ryokan, and Bungo-san and his mother are wonderful hosts. We had booked a large room and it had a great view of a garden - very quintessentially Japanese. Everything was very comfortable and clean. We were a little apprehensive about the shared toilet and shower, but they're maintained well, and we were lucky to be able to use them without any wait on both days of our stay. The common hot-tub is extremely relaxing and they have a nice system where guests can take turns using it privately. The location of the ryokan is great and we walked to most of Kanazawa's sights. Bungo-san gave us good sightseeing and restaurant recommendations and he and his mom also helped with multiple taxi bookings. We enjoyed staying here.

Rooms have a tatami (woven-straw) floor and low furniture. Some offer beds, while other rooms come with traditional futon bedding. All rooms are fitted with air conditioning, a flat-screen TV and a fridge. Yukata robes are provided.

This is an incredible experience! Authentic 230 years old ryokan owned for 9 generation of this family. I've never seen more polite, attentive and helpful staff than this. They would take care of your luggages from the taxi and will load it back to the taxi when you leave, clean the wheels, anticipate your needs. The dinner is a fantastic 10+ Japanese dining experience, where you can try a variety of local traditional dishes. You can purchase alcohol too if you like. The 100-year old Noh theater stage is unique, and the owner can give you a tour if you request it. The garden is well kept and beautiful. The ryokan has many little pockets and areas to relax, read a book, enjoy the views on the garden. Quiet and relaxing. You can reach it by taxi, or by train/bus + a short taxi from the local station; trust me it's worth a ride. The ryokan is filled with little details, like ceramics and art pieces, antique artifacts like from a museum. The onsen water has many healing properties (there is a certificate by the entrance with the water evaluation summary). It's coffee colored and considered to be 'beauty spa'. Men and women are separate; no access to the outdoors, but you can see the view on the forest during the day time. There are little massaging machines for feet and back available to the guests for free. The room is traditional style, with all the essentials, amazing green tea. Very impressive experience overall.

The host was so sweet and kind! The room was very nice, with its own AC to cool down, and the Japanese layout really was lovely. The breakfast and tea were so good, I wish I could've stayed for longer than just one night! The location is great too. It's just next to the geisha district, and close on foot to the samurai district and the castle. All in all, extremely good value for money. I'd visit again anytime!

Very beautiful, typical japanese ryokan, huge room with beautiful tatami and view on internal garden. The landlady is very welcoming, proactive and nice. The room had a WC and basin; the internal onsen (common bath) was very confortable, spacious and clean, with a typical hot tub. The position is very central and quiet. An excellent stay that surpassed our expectations

Wonderful Ryokan experience. Bungo was extremely helpful and explained the best sights in Kanazawa for us to visit. The room was large with a tatami floor and looked onto a beautiful garden. Yukatas were provided for walking around the Ryokan. Clean facilities and some amenities provided. The baths were able to be used by myself and my husband privately. It was about 25 minutes walk from the station and very close to Kanazawa castle gardens.

This Ryokan hotel is just next to two amazing sights: Kanazawa Castle and Kenrokuen Garden. The hotel provides you yukata for men and kimono for women, and you can keep them if you like (we did!). Breakfast was good but not great. The traditional Japanese style room was excellent with a small sitting area, which was quite pleasant. The staff was excellent and made us feel quite welcome. The onsen was excellent and quite hot; the water minerally and soothing. The facility was excellent.

fantastic family run ryokan (traditional japanese inn), with a shared onsen, outstanding food, and a traditional room with tatami floors, paper wall deco and clothes to wear during the stay (not mandatory of course). The manager is very kind and paying close attention to details. We had a delicious dinner in the room (highly recommended!!) prepared by the family, with salmon, tempura, sashimi, a large prawn, miso soup, rice, fruits, and may small nipples - it's the best dinner experience we had in Japan.
