Onsen Guest House Tsutaya encontra-se em Hakone, a cerca de 6,5 km de Estação Ferroviária Hakone-Yumoto e 48 km de Terras Altas Fujikyu. Possibly the best hostel I have ever stayed - though that word doesn’t do it justice! Onsen and all common spaces were beautiful, the kitchen was the best appointed I’ve ever seen with everything from cooking sake to coffee beans and grinders, staff were helpful. It’s a bit out of the way of things but that makes for a really peaceful atmosphere.

Kusatsu Onsen Eidaya is located in Kusatsu. The property is a 10-minute walk from Kusatsu Yubatake and Kusatsu-Onsen Bus Terminal. It is a Japanese style inn with retro vibes. Their private onsen's water comes from the very hot spring source of Kusatsu and therefore you can experience the hot spring water without going to the public baths if you are shy. We mostly used them at night when the town's baths are closed since the inn's are 24/7 open. I would recommend to book a japanese style room as it has it's tatami and according decoration and together with the inn's yukata (there is an opt for a colorful one and geta to rent) it gives a more japanese experience. We liked that the inn had slippers for going outside which was convenient as the whole town is full with onsens (even ones that are only for feet) and therefore is more convenient to move in slippers. They have a game area with a lot of retro game (even arcade games) and Nintendo SFC System Video Game Console in the rooms. It may not be in the centre of the town (around 10 min walk for either yubatake or Sainokawara Park and open onsen) but is very close to it and also they offer pick up/drop off from the bus terminal. Staff were very friendly and helped with everything we needed. In our next visit to Kusatsu we are definitely staying there!

Hakone Gora KARAKU situa-se em Hakone, a 8,3 km de Estação Ferroviária Hakone-Yumoto, e dispõe de acomodações com um terraço, estacionamento privado gratuito, um restaurante e um bar. Very friendly and helpful staff! The service was simply top tier. The dinner and breakfast were amazing. Really enjoyed the private open air bath, especially after running 2 marathons in the 2 week prior. Central location, pretty much a short walk from the Gora station.

Hot Spring Inn Hakone Suisen situa-se em Hakone, a 4,2 km de Estação Ferroviária Hakone-Yumoto, e dispõe de acomodações com um salão partilhado, estacionamento privado gratuito e um terraço. The room was gorgeous! The breakfast was really good and it had two different onsen. The onsen were small, but I liked it a lot. The people were nice. I highly recommend this place! It was beautiful.

Chuzenji Pension localiza-se em Nikko, a 9 minutos a pé de Cascatas Kegon e a 16 km de Santuário Nikko Toshogu. Super friendly and helpful staff, everyone can speak English. Food is top-notch. The view from the room is magnificent.
