We had a wondeful stay at Luck You Kyoto. The reception was friendly and made us feel wecome from the very beginning. We were offered a welcome tea and local sweets.
Our room was spacious and clean.
Breakfast was mostly Japanese (while travelling, I like to eat local food even if it is rather unfamiliar).
Luck Ypu Kyoto is situated very close to bus stops and relatively close to a railway station
We appreciate the possibility to visit the adjacent sento. Moreover, it was much appreciated to leave our bags before check-in.
Would visit again any day.

The monks' parting gift added a personal touch to our departure. If you seek a remarkable and culturally rich stay in Koyasan, I highly recommend this hotel.

I spent a night at this temple in mid-January.
It was unique. The atmosphere, the architecture, the food, the possibility to participate in goma ritual and the morning prayer.
It was cold in the corridors and the temple rooms, but that is normal in those old and traditional Japanese structures. The oil heater in the room did a good job. But the highlight to warm up is the bath! It's just wonderful - a traditional Japanese bath with a wooden tub.
What was also very special, was to be served dinner in a room of my own (I was travelling alone).
The temple is located right beside the entrance to the Okunoin cemetery - so a bit off the centre of Koyasan, but the perfect place, if you look for tranquility.
This temple is also special, because it has a really really long history, and it's architecture is mirroring the architecture of Koyasan's main temple.

You will be asked each morning when you would like to eat breakfast so they can cook you fresh meals every day. Each days breakfast is different and gives you a healthy start into the day. Besides the meal you can drink tea, juice or coffee. The room is traditionally styled with a modern shower and a little extra tea corner. As the whole hotel, the room is very clean and tidy. You will find anything you need right away. Because the accommodation is 2 minutes max away from the beach and restaurants you will have a grate stay at this place. All in all I had a very nice experience at the hotel and would recommend it highly. The stuff was very friendly and the food was every day a positive surprise and well done.

All good. We chk-in after 7pm due to flight delay. Staff gave us clear instruction to collect apartment key from the locker. Apartment fully equipped with all kind of appliances for our convenience. Place is clean, new and well kept. Highly recommeded for family and group of friends. 1 room with 2x Single bed. 1 room with Double bed. 1 room with tatami and futon beds. Bathroom with onsen bath tub. Ample free parking available. Good security system. Balcony with Sea View.
Unique experience with very traditional ryokan experience. Amazing. Private use of onsen was amazing. Beautiful private garden. Use of yukata.
Luxurious feeling, extremely comfortable futons (duvet was like a cloud), lovely baths, delicious traditional breakfast, lots of little comforts (packs for onsen, matcha on arrival, gift upon leaving), good location for shopping, food and transport
The hosts were extremely gracious, and I love that it’s family-owned, in the building they live in! There is lovely tatami in the rooms and pretty comfy futons, with beautiful, minimalist decoration. Yukata and tea were provided for a full, relaxing ryokan stay.
It's a ryokan in a high building where you get yukatas, bento breakfast (beef is best), futons on the floor and a wonderful indoor onsen. We lived there for 3 nights and the best time to vizit the onsen was at 4 pm or about midnight. We walked to Gyon and Kiyomizu-dera, it took about 30-40 min.
The Ryokan is literally 1min walk from the station, in a peatonal street full of shops. The personal was very kind and they were always trying to help. They took care of our luggage before the check in and after the check out. The room was amazing with tatami floor and they left a yukata for each gest. The Onsen was amazing and very relaxing. The breakfast was incredible, everything in the menu was amazing and very tasty. 100% recommended
If you want to spend a few nights in a real ryokan (not the edulcorated-for-tourist replicas), this might be the real deal. Wooden and paper panels, tatami, futons, internal garden, traditional shower, in-room tea-set, yukatas, and many other details. My kids (14 and 11 y.o) said this was the best hotel in our 3-weeks-trip throughout Japan. The staff is very kind and eager to make your stay great.
traditional tatami room with futon, welcome tea with sweets, Japanese Yukata, small Japanese courtyard, free onsen, happy-hour tea and snacks, and friendly staffs
Very welcoming monks Very close to the bus station and at a walking distance from the temples (careful, you must be back to the ryokan by 5pm) Dinner and breakfast (vegetarian) are delicious and served directly in the room The room was cosy and traditional, with comfortable futons, and yukatas are available There is a large hot tub, similar to an onsen to be shared with the other guests, this is where you shower too (you must be comfortable with nudity) We attended the morning ceremony, a unique moment
Gorgeous ryokan with good onsens. It was my first traditional Japanese hotel and onsen, so I was very impressed by hospitality, kaiseki dinner, the view, the room with tatami, yukata and hot springs. Totally recommend it!
