El Orquidea da a una enorme terraza en la azotea con vistas a Funchal y al océano Atlántico. Se encuentra a menos de 200 metros del museo del vino y de los jardines tropicales Monte Palace. Great room with super comfy beds! We also had a balcony. The hotel is located a couple of minutes away from the main attractions, restaurants, and shops. Be aware that the hotel is located on a one-way, narrow street with no parking possibilities. We used the "blue" parking spots near the hotel (on top of the hill). The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had! Very diverse, 3 types of milk, a lot of fruits, and more bread types, croissants, and other cookies, and a lot more! On top of that, the view from the breakfast room is breathtaking! Do not miss this hotel if you are in Funchal!!!

The hotel staff is amazing and made us felt welcome. It is a relatively small hotel, so you don't feel here like just another costumer, but you get to know all the members of the staff. We loved the restaurant - the food and the service were excellent. Also we were pleasently surprised that the hotel services' prices were very reasonable, sometimes even a bargain. The garden is very pleasant, even nicer than in the pictures.

El Monte Carlo ocupa un edificio histórico del centro de Funchal y tiene una gran terraza elevada y azotea con piscina y vistas al océano Atlántico. I love the service! The girls on desk is lovely. One is from madeira… the others is from Colombia! Amazing service! The last guy I don’t like the style is not friendly
